You may regret it later.   Always request corner stakes.  
Just because you think you know what your purchasing doesn't 
always prove out.  There are many issue that can adversely 
affect the parcel that may not be immediately apparent to the 
layperson.  Access, encroachments, wetlands, zoning restrictions, 
just to name a few.  Why take a chance.  Would you buy a new car 
and then drive home with your eyes closed?  I doubt it.  The cost 
of a survey with stakes is insignificant compared to the cost 
of real estate today.
